<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify"><strong>Zilliqa</strong> network recently experienced a series of operational disruptions that affected block production on the mainnet. However, as of May 10, all network functionality was restored, and the cause of the problem is still being investigated. The Zilliqa team informed the community that the network is now online after the temporary disruptions that hindered production on the mainnet.</p> 
<h2 class="p1" style="text-align: justify" id="blockchain-network-error-draws-reaction">Blockchain Network Error Draws Reaction</h2> 
<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify">When network functionality was restored, the infrastructure team continued to monitor the network’s stability while trying to diagnose the underlying cause of the recent disruptions. Since the initial signs of a slowdown in block production detected on May 8, the <strong>Zilliqa</strong> network technical team remained active for almost 48 hours to prevent further disruptions.</p> 
<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify">On May 9, the Zilliqa technical team discovered a fault where a node returned a null value instead of its <strong>RLP</strong> following a possible invalid database lookup, and the team shared the following statement:</p>

 <p class="p1" style="text-align: justify">“The team created internal test networks to reproduce this issue and try out fixes, allowing for isolated testing of potential solutions before deployment to the testnet and mainnet.”</p>

<h2 class="p1" style="text-align: justify" id="what-s-happening-at-zilliqa">What’s Happening at Zilliqa?</h2> 
<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify">On May 9, the team announced the deployment of Zilliqa version 9.3.4 network upgrade along with a fix that restored full functionality. The team mentioned that the upgrade would include a series of improvements related to EVM compatibility and apologized to users and the Zilliqa community for the inconvenience caused.</p> 
<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify">However, despite the deployment of the fix and upgrade, a new disruption aimed at blocking production affected the Zilliqa mainnet again on May 9. At this point, the team enhanced debugging processes to better diagnose the problem and resolve the underlying cause of the disruption.</p> 
<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify">This is not the first incident where Zilliqa block production was interrupted due to technical issues. In December 2023, production blockages caused daily Zilliqa <a href="https://en.coin-turk.com/ais-growing-influence-on-online-interactions-raises-concerns-and-calls-for-security-measures/" data-wpel-link="internal">blockchain</a> transactions to drop by about 50% from 61,000 to 30,906. The Zilliqa team continues to investigate the underlying causes of the recent network disruptions and thanks the community for their patience and support during the resolution process.</p>
