<p>The transaction, which took place on April 18, 2024, at an average price of $0.666 per token, has caught the attention of the crypto community, as it potentially signifies a substantial loss for the whale.</p>

<p>A closer look at the whale’s transaction history reveals a series of strategic moves involving MATIC tokens over the past 1.5 years. The investor initially withdrew 17.036 million MATIC tokens from Coinbase in two separate transactions on November 8, 2022, and January 9, 2024, at an average price of $0.949 per token. The estimated cost of these withdrawals amounts to $16.17 million.</p>

<p>Following the withdrawals, the whale decided to stake all the acquired MATIC tokens with Polygon, a popular Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum. By staking their tokens, the investor aimed to earn additional MATIC as rewards for supporting the network’s security and operation.</p>

<p>After nearly 1.5 years of staking, the whale unstaked their MATIC tokens and proceeded to deposit 17.191 million MATIC to the FalconX exchange on April 18, 2024. The deposit was made at a significantly lower price of $0.666 per token, resulting in a total value of $11.44 million.</p>
