<p>The cryptocurrency market experienced a notable downturn over the past 24 hours, marking a stark departure from the bullish trajectory witnessed throughout much of 2024.</p>
<p>Bitcoin (BTC), the largest cryptocurrency by market cap, plummeted to a low of $65,254, marking a considerable drop from its recent high of $70,952. Similarly, Ethereum (ETH), second largest one, saw a decline, hitting a low of $3,103 from its previous price of $3,540. The trading volume for both cryptocurrencies surged, with BTC witnessing a 61% increase and ETH seeing an 87% uptick, despite a 5% and 3% decrease in respective 24-hours.</p>
<p>The cryptocurrency market as a whole faced significant <a href="https://x.com/santimentfeed/status/1778899101939011588" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">liquidations</a>, with approximately $829 million liquidated in the past 12 hours. Notably, a substantial portion of these liquidations, totaling $785 million, were attributed to long orders.</p>
<p>Furthermore, the Memecoin Arena, known for its speculative fervor, was painted red, with notable tokens such as Dogecoin (DOGE), Shiba Inu (SHIB), PepeCoin (PEPE), dogwifhat (WIF), and Floki Inu (FLOKI) all experiencing double-digit declines ranging from 12% to 22%.</p>
