<p style="text-align: justify">Crypto enterprises must now navigate the regulatory pipeline, where they will be scrutinized by the OJK before being given the green light for operation. This scrutiny is part of a regulatory sandbox approach, a common practice employed by authorities to let businesses pilot novel products in a controlled environment. Hasan Fawzi, an Indonesian <a href="https://en.bitcoinhaber.net/crypto-bank-sygnum-hits-900m-valuation-with-over-40m-funding" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">finance</a> sector official, emphasized that this move primarily seeks to safeguard consumers from fraudulent investment schemes.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">Furthermore, starting January 2025, the OJK is set to inherit regulatory responsibilities for the crypto industry from the national commodity agency Bappebti. Crypto assets, which are currently categorized as commodities, could potentially be reclassified as financial instruments once under the OJK’s jurisdiction.</p>
