Decentralized perpetual exchange <a href="https://intentx.io/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">IntentX</a> and Layer 3 network Orbs have partnered to integrate Orbs’ Liquidity Hub. As the primary spot engine for IntentX, Orbs Liquidity Hub will provide customers access to spot orders and the perpetual contracts marketplace.
Operating atop automated market makers (AMMs) is the <a href="https://thenewscrypto.com/defi-total-value-locked-tvl-surpasses-100b-amid-bitcoin-surge/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">DeFi</a> infrastructure platform Orbs Liquidity Hub. The liquidity across DEXs is fragmented; it helps with this by sourcing liquidity from both on-chain and off-chain sources. By combining all of the deployed chain’s liquidity, the platform enables DEXs to access external liquidity sources and provide rates that are more competitive than those of AMMs.
IntentX joins Quickswap on Polygon, Quickswap on Polygon zkEVM, and THENA on the BNB chain as the newest partner of Orbs Liquidity Hub. It is also the first platform on Base, the Coinbase Layer 2 chain, to join the Liquidity Hub, enabling customers to get the best deals without having to deal with AMMs and the price effect they cause. Significantly, this is the first integration of its sort, making Orbs Liquidity Hub the first platform without a DEX AMM.
Orbs Liquidity Hub operates simply by drawing from both external and on-chin liquidity sources. Liquidity Hub gets liquidity from two main sources: On-chain solver auctions and Decentralized orders via its API, in place of the standard swaps on DEXs — via AMMs.
Third-party solvers may participate in an auction to fill swaps using their own private inventory or on-chain liquidity AMM pools thanks to the on-chain solver auctions. Furthermore, the Hub included decentralized orders from external sources that are accessible via APIs, allowing professional and institutional traders—like market makers—to place bids and compete to complete swaps.
