<p><a href="https://www.avax.network/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Avalanche</a> is positioning itself as a leading blockchain for Web3 gaming. The launch of popular game <a href="https://maplestory.nexon.net/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Maple Story</a> on an Avalanche subnet marks a major milestone, with the potential to onboard millions of existing users into Web3 gaming. With its subnet architecture, Avalanche offers scalability and customizability that traditional game publishers seek.</p>
<p>At the <a href="https://gdconf.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Game Developers Conference</a> (GDC) in San Francisco this week, Avalanche has a massive presence showcasing partners like <a href="https://meritcircle.io/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Merit Circle</a>, <a href="https://www.shrapnel.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Shrapnel</a>, and <a href="https://www.bloodloop.com/home" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Blood Loop</a>. Edward Chang, Avalanche's Director of Gaming, believes GDC will be an inflection point demonstrating that blockchain games are ready for mainstream adoption.</p>

This unlocks new play-to-earn models where items have true ownership and liquidity. Teleporter exemplifies Avalanche's vision of an "internet of subnets" forming an interconnected Web3 gaming metaverse.</p>
<p>Attracting major Web2 gaming companies is a priority for Avalanche. In addition to Maple Story's <a href="https://www.nexon.com/main/en" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Nexon</a>, other partners include Merit Circle (<a href="https://pegaxy.io/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Pegaxy</a>), Godzilla (Metalcore), <a href="https://gameoffthegrid.com/#about" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Off the Grid</a> (indie FPS for Xbox), and <a href="https://defikingdoms.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">DeFi Kingdoms</a>. Avalanche is pursuing talent in key gaming hubs like South Korea to accelerate adoption.</p>
<p>With infrastructure, partners, and a strong developer focus, Avalanche is aiming to become the go-to platform as Web3 gaming goes mainstream. The imminent launches of hyped games on Avalanche subnets could be the catalyst that unlocks mass adoption and Web3's gaming revolution.</p>
