A major change is taking place in Thailand’s crypto investing scene as a result of the <a href="https://thenewscrypto.com/sec-chair-gary-gensler-dodges-questions-on-spot-ethereum-etf/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">SEC’s</a> approval of private funds for the U.S. Spot Bitcoin ETFs. This judgment follows suit. Additionally, worldwide investors’ faith in the investment vehicle has been bolstered by the recent strong inflow into the U.S. Spot Bitcoin ETF market.
Meanwhile, this is all in an effort to meet the rising demand from institutional investors for exposure to digital assets, as stated by SEC secretary-general <a href="https://www.sec.or.th/EN/Pages/Activities.aspx?SECID=10125" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Pornanong Budsaratragoon</a>. According to the Bangkok Post, she did stress the importance of being cautious since these investments are quite risky.
Particularly in light of the unprecedented surge in interest in cryptocurrencies—and Bitcoin in particular—and their skyrocketing values, the SEC’s approval is a calculated move. The SEC’s determination to reduce digital asset risks is shown by this decision, which opens up new channels for institutional investment.
