The company successfully mined 300 BTC, a slight decrease from the previous month, due to participation in grid-stabilizing curtailment programs and a shorter month, despite an increase in mining difficulty. These expansions are expected to significantly increase Bitfarms' operational efficiency and contribute to achieving a 12 EH/s hash rate by Q2 2024 and a 21 EH/s rate by year-end.
Bitfarms' strategic investments in infrastructure and technology are not just about expanding capacity but also about improving energy efficiency. The company anticipates an 11% improvement in energy efficiency, lowering its watts per terahash to 31 w/TH, which aligns with its commitment to sustainable mining practices. These efforts are supported by the development of hydro-powered projects and the signing of crucial contracts for the construction of necessary substations in Paraguay.
The financial aspect of Bitfarms' operations also reflects a strategic approach to managing its assets. The company sold 300 BTC of the 300 BTC earned in February, generating $15.1 million in proceeds. This decision to sell all mined BTC reflects a tactical response to market conditions and the company's financial strategy.
