<p>Crypto mining company, Marathon Digital, is currently working on a multi-chain sidechain network with a primary focus on <a href="https://crypto.ro/en/cryptocurrencies/bitcoin/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Bitcoin</a>.</p>
<p>The network is named Anduro.</p>
<h2 id="development-of-anduro">Development of Anduro</h2>
<p>The first two sidechains of Anduro, named Coordinate and Alys, are in the development phase.</p>
<p>Coordinate is designed to provide a more efficient UTXO stack for Ordinals.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, Alys is an EVM-compatible network being developed for the purpose of asset tokenization.</p>
<p>Anduro is a platform that is built on the Bitcoin network.</p>
<p>It allows for the creation of multiple sidechains, opening new possibilities for innovation within the Bitcoin ecosystem.</p>
<p>Marathon Digital has plans for the network to be community-led and incorporate decentralized governance in its developments.</p>
<h2 id="anduro-s-merge-mining-system">Anduro’s Merge-Mining System</h2>
<p>Anduro employs a system known as merge-mining.</p>
<p>This system allows miners to potentially earn Bitcoin-denominated revenue from sidechain transactions while continuing to mine Bitcoin on the base layer.</p>
<p>According to Marathon, Anduro is an idea that provides value to Bitcoin holders and application developers.</p>
<p>It also reinforces the long-term sustainability of Bitcoin’s proof-of-work.</p>
<p>This belief was expressed by Fred Thiel, Marathon’s chairman and CEO.</p>
