Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum comes in support of Artificial Intelligence (AI) amid Ethereum’s “biggest technical” risks. According to him, OpenAI’s GPT-4 holds the capacity to catch bugs and risks in Ethereum-based code. The comment was made by Buterin based on an experiment held in July 2023. According to Buterin, one of the <a href="https://www.thecoinrepublic.com/2024/02/17/rumors-of-alliance-with-revolut-skyrocketed-bonks-price-by-7/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">AI applications</a> holds the power to assist formal verification of code and bug finding. The bug in the code is Ethereum’s biggest technical risk as of now and GPT-4 has the power to detect and resolve the issue. 
The bug buried deep within the code was identified through a series of experiments, conducted by OpenZeppelin in July 2023. OpenAI’s GPT-4 made a positive response in detecting the security issues in Ethereum’s Solidity smart contracts, the programming language of ETH. The tool encountered over 20 out of 28 challenges. Additionally, individuals can give prompts to correct mistakes if persist.&nbsp; 
However, the tools are not very reliable and are not widely accepted by everyone. In fact, OpenZeppelin observed that AI had actually developed exposures that had never existed in the first place.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
Supporting the statement, Kang Li, Certik’s chief security officer said that AI tools often generate glitches or security issues and recommended to be used by experienced coders if required.&nbsp;&nbsp; 
Buterin’s statement comes as ETH closes in on applying its long-awaited Dencun upgrade, supposed to launch on March 13. The launch is expected to introduce proto-danksharding and blobs to drop down transaction costs on ETH layer 2s.&nbsp;&nbsp; 
Nevertheless, Buterin warned developers to use caution when working with Artificial Intelligence or applying AI with blockchain technology.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
