MicroStrategy (MSTR), led by its co-founder and executive chairman <a href="https://news.todayq.com/microstrategy-sets-new-bet-on-bitcoin-as-michael-saylor-plans-to-sell-216m-on-mstr-shares/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Michael Saylor</a>, has hit a remarkable milestone in its Bitcoin investment journey. With the recent surge in Bitcoin’s price to nearly $53,000, MSTR’s holdings have surpassed $10 billion, marking a profit of over $4 billion. At the time of writing, MicroStrategy Inc.’s market price stands at $718, reflecting a decrease of $51.88 (6.74%). MicroStrategy’s huge profits 
At the close of January, MicroStrategy disclosed that it held a whopping 190,000 Bitcoins, acquired for a total of $5.93 billion. This translates to an average purchase price of $31,224 per coin. The journey began in the second quarter of 2020, with MicroStrategy consistently adding to its Bitcoin reserves each quarter since then. The company’s foresight and moves have resulted in big profits, with its earnings going way up.
MicroStrategy’s newfound success has been significantly impacted by Bitcoin price surge. Just in December of the previous year, the company revealed a profit of nearly $2 billion. However, thanks to <a href="https://news.todayq.com/litecoin-continues-to-struggle-amid-bitcoin-rally-but-why/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Bitcoin’s remarkable rally</a> of more than 20% since the beginning of 2024, MicroStrategy’s profits have now doubled. Saylor attributes part of Bitcoin’s price surge to the listing of <a href="https://news.todayq.com/bitcoin-bulls-fueled-by-etfs-inflow-locks-aim-at-new-ath/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">spot Bitcoin ETFs</a>, as per reports. He noted that this listing has created a significant disparity in supply and demand. Attributing it to a long-standing desire for a Bitcoin product accessible to retail investors after a decade of anticipation.
Despite the monumental success of its Bitcoin investment, MicroStrategy’s shares remained relatively unchanged in Thursday morning trading, showcasing stability amidst market fluctuations. Year-to-date, however, the company’s shares have surged by an impressive 21%, reflecting investor confidence in its strategic vision and Bitcoin holdings.
Bitcoin’s current price fluctuates around $52,185.47, slightly down by 0.11% in the last day. It remains at the top position with a market cap of $1.02 trillion. Trading volume decreased by 18.12% in 24 hours, but the volume relative to the market cap remains steady at 3.49%. With a circulating supply of 19,629,200 BTC and a maximum supply of 21 million BTC, Bitcoin’s fully diluted market cap is&nbsp; $1.09 trillion.
