The global crypto market sees a new category of tokens making buzz suddenly. ERC 404 recently gained popularity making it a new trend in the market. Climbing the upward trend, the <a href="https://news.todayq.com/erc-404-tokens-market-cap-nearly-hit-300m-whats-happening/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">ERC 404</a> market cap jumped by a massive 2307% to stand at $335 million. However, amid this surge a new token ERC20 went on to hit a biggie. ERC20 books big 
According to the data, the ERC20 price jumped by almost 1000% in the last 24 hours. ERC20 is trading at an average price of $0.116, at the press time. Its 24 hour trading volume is up by 5841% to stand at $55,360.
It is important to note that this surge comes in due to a surge in the ERC-404 market. This is creating a substantial buzz around Ethereum NFTs. Experts anticipate a surge in momentum as major NFT collections migrate to ERC404. It came in with speculation that Yuga, especially with MAYC, might lead the way, potentially followed by high-value collections like Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC).
However, BAYC holds a high cost while the ERC-404 standard presents an opportunity for new investors to enter the market.
Pandora (PANDORA), the inaugural ERC-404 token, recorded a massive price surge as the buzz kicked in. Starting from a modest $250, its price soared to $32,000 within just a week. The jump was driven by strong demand and a limited supply of 8,000 tokens. The token recorded an impressive $76 million in trading volumes over the past 24 hours. This shows the hype around ERC-404.
ERC20 tokens stand in the meme coin category. Data depicts that the meme crypto market cap jumped by almost 3% in the last 24 hours. It now stands at $20.6 billion. However, its 24 hour trading volume is marginally up to stand at $981 million. The next big thing? 
As per a report, an unofficial Ethereum standard, ERC-404 is conceived by pseudonymous developers. They are named “ctrl” and “Acme” within the Pandora project. However, they are now gearing up to submit an Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP).&nbsp;
This will combine the elements of ERC-20 fungible tokens and ERC-721 for NFTs. ERC-404 aims to bind NFTs to tokens, enabling fractionalized ownership.&nbsp;
Most importantly, the standard hasn’t undergone an audit. The developers expressed confidence in their submission. The GitHub page notes the experimental nature of ERC-404. This highlights the challenge of merging standards not originally designed for integration.
