<p>Solana’s development efforts hit another snag this week after the network’s mainnet beta suffered a performance degradation leading to halted block progression. <p>Nonetheless, the network failure immediately prevented any new blocks from being produced, paralyzing transaction finality and activity.</p> 
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="strong-previous-reliability-issues-resurface-strong"><strong>Previous Reliability Issues Resurface</strong></h2> 
<p>While the current outage marked the first network-wide disruption in 2024, Solana infrastructure failed to inspire confidence last year. The repeated outages and instability prevented SOL from sustaining any upside momentum.</p> 
<p>In particular, Solana suffered an even longer failure in mid-2022 when the entire network went dark for nearly two straight days. And during the summer season, a separate incident knocked Solana offline for 18 hours, drawing criticism around architectural robustness.</p>
