In a bid to alleviate concerns within the XRP community, Ripple’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) David Schwartz recently addressed the implementation of the Automated Market Maker (AMM) protocol in the XRP Ledger. With 28 out of the needed 35 votes supporting the amendment, people are talking about how it might affect the value of XRP. While losses are theoretically minimized, users may not experience as much profit as they would if they held the underlying assets during periods of price surges. Furthermore, the AMM doesn’t promise a set profit, which means those providing liquidity might face uncertainties in the market.
Schwartz focused on the advantages of the AMM. He said it can use the ups and downs in the market to make some money and protect against losing value when the value of assets goes down.
