The car was previously targeting a release as soon as 2026, but according to reports, 2028 will be the earliest we see the <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" title="Apple" href="https://thebittimes.com/tag/apple.html">Apple</a> Electric Car (EV) on the roads.</p>

 <p>According to those familiar with the <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" title="Apple" href="https://thebittimes.com/tag/apple.html">Apple</a> Car project, after previously envisioning a driverless car, the company is now working on an electric vehicle with more limited <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" title="Category Features" href="https://thebittimes.com/features.html">Features</a>. After nearly a decade of rumors about a new Tesla self-driving competitor, <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" title="Apple" href="https://thebittimes.com/tag/apple.html">Apple</a> seems to have hit a wall. Instead of delaying the self-driving vehicle even further than 2028, the company will opt for an EV.</p>

 <p>Apple has yet to comment on the latest reports. However, according to Bloomberg, the new release date is two years earlier than recent projections. The Apple Car project is one of the most hyped and innovative projects in the company’s history. Some may argue that the Apple Car will be as hyped, if not more, than the launch of the iPhone. Apple has never pursued motor vehicles before, so a step toward an electric car model is far beyond the tech giant’s comfort zone.</p>

 <p>Since the code-named Titan and T172 projects began in 2015, they have had multiple different heads of production. Furthermore, multiple layoffs and halts of production have caused the delays. Here’s hoping that whoever is at the wheel will truly have the car on the roads in the next 4 years.</p>
