Solana Mobile has opened pre-orders for a new Saga smartphone. 
According to the company’s <a href="https://two.solanamobile.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a>, the new hardware product is cheaper than the first Solana crypto phone and will ship in the first half of 2025. Successor entries will be limited to one person and five per family for $450.

The design and other characteristics have yet to be disclosed, but the developers have presented a referral program. Users can invite friends to order a smartphone and receive rewards from the Solana ecosystem for this. Also, the new product will have the same characteristics as the previous model: a built-in crypto wallet, custom software for Android, and a decentralized application store.

The hype around the Bonk project tokens (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/BONK/">BONK</a>) led to Solana management temporarily <a href="https://crypto.news/saga-mobile-by-solana-sells-out-on-the-heels-of-bonk-token-surging-7-in-24-hour-trading/">closing</a> sales on Saga. 
From launch, all phone holders could claim 30 million BONK. In mid-December, Saga sales <a href="https://crypto.news/solana-saga-called-by-tech-industry-critic-as-worst-smartphone-of-2023/">increased</a> tenfold. As a result, the price of the smartphone on the secondary market reached $5,000, while Solana was selling the gadget for $600. 
Solana sold out all its smartphone models in less than a week. Later, another airdrop was held among Saga owners. This time, the meme coin project Samoyedcoin (SAMO) was behind the giveaway. 20,000 users received free tokens.
