According to the latest CoinMarketCap report, Flare was a top gainer on Jan. 15 in response to Google Cloud’s contributor announcement. 
As stated on CoinMarketCap’s top gainers, Flare (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/flare/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">FLR</a>), operating as an EVM-based layer 1, experienced a 20.8% price surge to $0.0212 in the last day, with a 24-hour trading volume of $38.9 million.

The surge is said to come alongside an announcement of&nbsp;<a href="https://bnnbreaking.com/finance-nav/business/google-cloud-steps-up-as-a-validator-for-the-flare-blockchain/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Google Cloud</a>&nbsp;into the blockchain arena, serving as both a validator and contributor to the Flare Time Series Oracle (FTSO), becoming a milestone in integrating blockchain technology with mainstream tech companies. FLR has since reported strong performance in contrast to the global cryptocurrency market, which has experienced a 3.2% downturn while outpacing other Smart Contract Platform cryptocurrencies, which have increased 10.8% in the last day. 
Securing the second position is Sui (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/sui/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">SUI</a>), which stands at $1.37, reflecting a 9.4% increase in the past 24 hours, with a substantial 24-hour trading volume of $685 million. At the same time, the Sui protocol has experienced a noteworthy surge in the total value of assets locked, reaching nearly $341 million, marking an increase of approximately $48 million in the last 24 hours. Sui continues to hold momentum since it was reported as a&nbsp;<a href="https://crypto.news/sui-ftt-anchors-todays-top-cryptocurrency-gainers/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">top gainer</a>&nbsp;a few days earlier. 
MetisDAO (METIS) takes the third spot on the day’s leaderboards, boasting a 6.7% increase, currently at $126.83. Although nothing newsworthy was reported on Jan. 15, the token is still experiencing excitement from a&nbsp;<a href="https://crypto.news/metisdao-up-51-following-bitget-wallet-announcement/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bitget wallet announcement</a>&nbsp;from the previous week.&nbsp;
