<p>The Fed's Beige Book document can be characterized as a report on current economic conditions in each of the 12 Federal districts of the United States and provides a picture of economic trends and challenges in the United States. It is published 8 times a year, 2 weeks before each FOMC meeting. The report is used by the FOMC in its decisions on short-term interest rates.</p>
