Issuers submitted last-minute amendments on spot Bitcoin ETF deadline day as the Chicago Board Options Exchange disclosed the first trading date.&nbsp;
Hashdex submitted an <a href="https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1985840/000199937124000311/tct_s1a-011024.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">updated</a> form S-1 for its spot Bitcoin ETF, retaining its 0.9% fee amid a tussle between issuers to offer competitive rates. Other firms like BlackRock and Valkyrie <a href="https://crypto.news/spot-bitcoin-etf-issuers-amendments-fees/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">slashed</a> fees, with Bitwise offering the most affordable rate at 0.2%.
At least six issuers will also table fee waivers.

Furthermore, the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) said multiple spot Bitcoin ETFs will begin trading on Jan. 11 following a request for acceleration <a href="https://crypto.news/cboe-announces-the-listing-of-several-bitcoin-etfs-pending-sec-approval/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">filed</a> earlier on Jan. 10. Firms expected to open trading include ARK 21Shares, Fidelity, VanEck, Franklin Templeton, Invesco Galaxy, and Wisdomtree to name a few.&nbsp;
Despite the flurry of amendments and the CBOE notice, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission must approve 19b-4 filings before spot Bitcoin ETFs can trade in American financial markets.&nbsp;Notably, some trading apps already <a href="https://crypto.news/fidelity-trading-app-displays-spot-bitcoin-etf-tickers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">display</a> BTC ETF tickers.
While Bitcoin (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/bitcoin/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">BTC</a>) saw volatility after hackers posted a fake approval announcement from the <a href="https://crypto.news/us-senators-urge-sec-for-clarity-following-misleading-tweet-on-bitcoin-etfs/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">SEC’s X account</a>, ARK CEO Cathie Wood does not foresee a delay in spot BTC ETFs, per Bloomberg.
