In 2023, there was a noticeable improvement in terms of crypto theft from scams, hacks, and rug pulls. However, as 2024 began, various scam-related activities have been continuously surfacing. Recently, Brad Garlinghouse, the founder and CEO of Ripple technology, made a post on X (previously Twitter) about the fake XRP airdrop surfaces as X and YouTube permit misleading paid ads to circulate. This not only misled the crypto community but also inspired them to get involved in the scam.
Yep,&nbsp; you’d be surprised how often the Ripple team reports these scams, with no real recourse for innocent consumers from the platforms themselves. Completely irresponsible for Brad Garlinghouse alerts community about fake AI voice scam 
On January 10, 2024, CEO Brad highlighted that the <a href="https://news.todayq.com/xrp-giveaway-scam-ripple-ceo-issues-warning/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Ripple team had already reported these scams </a>several times as reported by Todayq News. However, these scammers are using the video and running paid ads on social media platforms like X, YouTube, and others to trick crypto investors.&nbsp;
Several people replied to Brad’s post on X, mentioning that they had also seen it on YouTube, Facebook, and X. Some requested action against the ad fraud, while others expressed frustration, saying it’s unfortunate that suing them is illegal. Some even suggested that Elon Musk might have double agents infiltrating these platforms. Social Media platforms urged to implement Crypto ads policy 
Social media platforms like X, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram also need to take a crypto ads policy, similar to Google’s, which will start effect on January 29, 2024. This is a matter of concern for the crypto community, as the manipulated video creates the illusion that Brad is saying those words in real time.&nbsp;
When this video circulated rapidly on social media, pro-Bitcoin Tim Draper issued a strict warning about the significant surge in web3 and AI technology. Draper not only warned but also mentioned that AI is becoming smarter and can easily clone the voice of anyone, posing a significant risk for scamming investors. He urged the crypto community to exercise caution and avoid falling into such scams.&nbsp;
Additionally, such videos can have a substantial impact on investors and the ongoing lawsuit with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The sixth-largest cryptocurrency, Ripple (XRP), with a market cap of over $30 billion, is struggling to gain momentum. If such activities are not stopped, it could create trouble for Ripple holders and investors.
Currently, Ripple’s XRP is trading near $0.56, and in the last 24 hours, it experienced a modest 0.54% downside momentum. However, looking at XRP over a more extended period, in the last 30 days, it has experienced over 13% downside momentum.
