The year witnessed a remarkable 106.27% growth in the global mining <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/bitcoin-miners-set-for-a-tough-ride-as-2024-halving-nears-jp-morgan/">hash rate</a>, reflecting the robust expansion and adoption of more advanced mining technologies. Notably, the increase in computational power did not entirely correspond with the price surge of Bitcoin, indicating that miners were able to achieve higher-than-average profits. 
December was particularly notable for Bitcoin mining, as the daily average fee income for miners skyrocketed to 19.26% of their total revenue. This surge can be partly attributed to the overall increase in Bitcoin's transaction fees, which soared by an astonishing 367.88% over the year, reaching a total of $641 million. This rise in transaction fees has been a significant contributor to the <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/texas-residents-challenge-bitcoin-mining-industrys-impact-on-power-grid-and-communities/">mining industry</a>'s overall revenue. 
The upcoming Bitcoin <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/heat-waves-and-halving-bitcoin-miners-cash-in-amid-rising-prices/">halving</a> in April 2024 further brightens the outlook for Bitcoin mining. Historically, halvings have been associated with price increases, and if this trend continues, it could further enhance the profitability of Bitcoin mining.
