The cryptocurrency market, led by <a href="https://en.coin-turk.com/what-do-analysts-think-about-bitcoins-recent-surge/" data-wpel-link="internal" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Bitcoin</a>, had experienced the biggest daily drop of the year on December 11th, 2023, which turned all eyes to the FED meeting that took place on December 13th. The reservation of investors and analysts regarding the process had caused a deep silence in the markets. However, following the meeting, Bitcoin managed to trade at $42,853, achieving a daily increase of 3% at the time of writing.
<h2 id="fed-keeps-interest-rates-unchanged">FED Keeps Interest Rates Unchanged</h2>
At the FED meeting, which took place at 22:00, the decision to keep interest rates steady caused the US Dollar Index to fall initially, followed by an optimistic outlook on interest rates from FED Chairman Powell, which led to a significant increase in the price of Bitcoin. During this period, Bitcoin managed to reach its highest level in recent days.
Following the process, Bitcoin experienced a substantial breakout from the ascending channel formation in the 15-minute chart. With the Wall Street opening, Bitcoin couldn’t surpass the $42,200 resistance initially, but following Powell’s moderate views on interest rate cuts, Bitcoin gained significant momentum and paved the way for a positive scenario for the upcoming period.
