<a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/hut-8s-q2-2023-a-bitcoin-mining-marvel/">Hut 8</a>, a leading player in North America's digital asset mining, has unveiled its first detailed operations update since merging with USBTC, according to <a href="https://hut8.com/2023/12/11/hut-8-operations-update-for-november-2023/">Hut 8</a>. 
The update, announced on December 11, 2023, in Miami, highlights the company's significant expansion and diversification post-merger. Now managing a massive 839 megawatts of energy and overseeing 207,399 mining machines, Hut 8's operational scale has grown exponentially. Notably, the company's Bitcoin reserves stand at an impressive 9,129 BTC, marking one of the largest holdings by a publicly traded firm. 
The merger with USBTC, finalized on November 30, has broadened Hut 8's geographical footprint across North America. The company now operates several sites, including Alpha in Niagara Falls, NY, and Foxtrot in Medicine Hat, AB, each focusing on different aspects of mining operations. These sites, along with others in Kearney, NE, Granbury, TX, and Drumheller, AB, contribute to Hut 8's diversified business portfolio, ranging from <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/riot-battles-texas-heat-to-produce-410-btc-and-stabilize-energy-grid/">self-mining</a> to managed services and <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/bitcoin-mining-reshaping-landscape-amid-global-interest-surge/">hosting</a>. 
In November 2023 alone, Hut 8 produced 390 BTC, significantly contributing to its Bitcoin reserve. The company's self-mining operations, particularly in <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/alberta-stanovitsya-centrom-majninga-v-kanade-2/">Canada</a>, are a priority, with efforts directed towards enhancing efficiency. Hut 8's CEO, Jaime Leverton, emphasizes the importance of these initiatives for positioning the company favorably in the upcoming year. 
Adding to its technological advancements, Hut 8 has started piloting purpose-built software at its Foxtrot and Golf sites, aimed at improving fleet and infrastructure efficiency. Furthermore, the launch of the high performance computing (HPC) Cloud Portal in mid-November marks a significant step in offering clients direct access to Hut 8's GPUs and computing solutions.
