The company made the announcement in a letter to the Campaign for Accountability (CfA), which had accused Circle of facilitating, financing, or banking individuals linked to terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Hezbollah. Circle denied the CfA’s allegations and stated that it does not facilitate or finance any illicit actors. The company also said that it is subject to multiple regulatory regimes that focus on anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism.</p>
