<p>Argentina’s next president is set to be Javier Milei after his opponent Sergio Massa conceded on Sunday evening, stating that “Argentines chose another path.” With over 87% of the votes counted, Milei leads with 56% of the tally versus Massa’s 44%, according to Bloomberg. Milei, who has previously criticized the country’s central bank, has called for its elimination and the return of money to its private sector, representing the “return of money to its original creator.” While he has not proposed making bitcoin legal tender, Milei has spoken out against the central bank, calling it a “scam.” Argentina’s economy has been hit hard by inflation, which reached 142% in October. The news has led to a nearly 3% increase in the price of bitcoin over the past 24 hours.</p>
