HIVE Digital Technologies Ltd., a leader in "green" digital asset mining and data center operations, has announced a significant upgrade to its Bitcoin mining fleet. The Vancouver-based company has purchased 4,800 <a href="https://ultramining.com/en/hardware/antminer-s19k-pro-120-ths/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Bitmain S19k Pro</a> ASIC miners. HIVE's investment in new mining technology aims to lower its joules per terahash efficiency from 38 J/TH to 23 J/TH. The Company expects these latest generation miners to remain cash flow positive even after the <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/heat-waves-and-halving-bitcoin-miners-cash-in-amid-rising-prices/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Halving</a> event. This proactive upgrade is a part of HIVE's long-term strategy to navigate volatile markets through efficient and cost-effective operations.
In the past six months, HIVE has acquired 8,900 ASICs, focusing on quick delivery and attractive pricing. The Company's approach contrasts sharply with the 65% shareholder dilution experienced by its peers in the <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/major-bitcoin-mining-pool-foundry-usa-to-introduce-fee-structure/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">US</a>. HIVE's current Bitcoin network contribution is substantial, producing over 9 Bitcoin per day. The new ASICs are expected to further increase this output. This strategic procurement since November 2022 has added over 29,000 Bitcoin ASIC miners to HIVE's arsenal, demonstrating a calculated approach to growth and shareholder value.
