Shiba Inu's marketing&nbsp;lead, Lucie, has&nbsp;cleared&nbsp;up some&nbsp;confusion&nbsp;regarding&nbsp;Shibarium and the burning of SHIB commemoratives.  
When you&nbsp;transfer&nbsp;your SHIB&nbsp;commemoratives&nbsp;from the Ethereum&nbsp;network( L1) to Shibarium( L2), the original SHIB commemoratives are locked in the ground contract.  
At the&nbsp;same&nbsp;time, a&nbsp;new&nbsp;interpretation&nbsp;of the&nbsp;commemorative&nbsp;is created on Shibarium.&nbsp;So, the original commemoratives are not destroyed or taken out of rotation. They are just locked down.  
Then&nbsp;comes the&nbsp;important&nbsp;part:&nbsp;when you&nbsp;decide&nbsp;to&nbsp;burn&nbsp;your SHIB&nbsp;commemoratives&nbsp;on Shibarium, you are actually burning this new interpretation, while the&nbsp;original&nbsp;commemoratives&nbsp;stay locked in the&nbsp;ground&nbsp;contract. In simple terms, it's like getting rid of a dupe, not the original.  
Lucie&nbsp;also&nbsp;gave&nbsp;some&nbsp;guidance&nbsp;to&nbsp;inventors&nbsp;and the community. However, you should&nbsp;first&nbsp;move&nbsp;your SHIB&nbsp;back&nbsp;to the Ethereum network and&nbsp;also&nbsp;shoot&nbsp;it to the"&nbsp;dead&nbsp;portmanteau, if you are&nbsp;part&nbsp;of the Shibarium design and want to burn SHIB." The&nbsp;dead&nbsp;portmanteau&nbsp;is where&nbsp;commemoratives&nbsp;are&nbsp;transferred&nbsp;when they are&nbsp;burned&nbsp;for&nbsp;real.  
Now, some&nbsp;folks&nbsp;might&nbsp;argue&nbsp;that if the&nbsp;commemoratives&nbsp;are locked in the&nbsp;ground&nbsp;indefinitely, it's analogous to burning them because they are not in&nbsp;rotation. Lucie&nbsp;conceded&nbsp;this and&nbsp;clarified&nbsp;that the&nbsp;debate&nbsp;revolves around the&nbsp;oddities&nbsp;of what"&nbsp;burning" means.
