The latest Q2 2023 report from <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/impending-bitcoin-halving-may-trigger-major-hashrate-decline-say-experts/">Hashrate</a> Index shines light on the geographical distribution of public <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/russias-bitcoin-gold-rush-mining-machine-influx-outpaces-rest-of-the-world/">Bitcoin miners</a> in the <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/major-bitcoin-mining-pool-foundry-usa-to-introduce-fee-structure/">US</a>. With operations primarily centered in <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/texas-residents-challenge-bitcoin-mining-industrys-impact-on-power-grid-and-communities/">Texas</a>, North Dakota, and the East Coast, the landscape showcases a broad national participation, according to <a href="https://twitter.com/JMellerud/status/1716202265374294111">JMellerud</a>.

However, it's not just the distribution of miners that’s of interest. Recent data indicates that <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/bitcoin-mining-reshaping-landscape-amid-global-interest-surge/">hosting</a> rates for Bitcoin mining in both the <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/major-bitcoin-mining-pool-foundry-usa-to-introduce-fee-structure/">US</a> and <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/alberta-stanovitsya-centrom-majninga-v-kanade-2/">Canada</a> have remained consistent. Between Q2 and Q3 of 2023, only marginal changes in rates were observed. The US saw a slight increment from $0.0787/kWh to $0.0790/kWh. On the other hand, <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/alberta-stanovitsya-centrom-majninga-v-kanade-2/">Canada</a>'s rates went from $0.0722/kWh in Q2 to $0.0725/KWh in Q3. 
Interestingly, the US offers varying discounts based on the size of the mining operation. Large fleets, boasting more than 200 ASICs, experienced an 8% discount in Q3, a slight rise from the 7.5% discount in Q2. Medium-sized fleets, holding between 100 to 200 ASICs, were given a 6.6% discount in the third quarter, up from the 5.3% in the preceding quarter.
