   <p>Soon after their appearance in the Official Journal, the rules will take effect in just 20 days. For some historical context, it’s worth noting that the European Commission was first introduced to the Eighth Directive on Administrative Cooperation (often referred to as DAC8) in December 2022. Further, according to the European Council, this DAC8 appears to perfectly align with MiCA, the established crypto guideline of the EU. Lastly, the European Securities and Markets Authority provided the public with an informative update on MiCA in October 2023.</p>
