According to information shared within the <a target="_blank" href="https://tokeninsight.com/en/coins/fantom/overview">Fantom</a> Telegram community, some wallets belonging to the Fantom Foundation were drained due to a zero-day exploit on Google Chrome. The losses were in "hundreds of thousands of dollars" and the foundation is "actively tracking the movements of the funds".
The drained wallets are Fantom Foundation's hot wallets, with some on Fantom and some on Ethereum. Most funds are on cold wallets, according to the Foundation.
As reported by The Block, after the incident, Fantom co-founder Andre Cronje said that the funds stolen on Fantom belonged to employees, not the foundation.
