Stay tuned for more updates on our journey to empower crypto traders worldwide,&rdquo; the tweet reads.&nbsp;<h2 id="a-win-win-scenario">A win-win scenario&nbsp;</h2>Deribit currently controls over 85% of the digital asset options market presently offering Bitcoin (<a href="https://cryptonews.com/coins/bitcoin/">BTC</a>) and Ethereum (<a href="https://cryptonews.com/coins/ethereum/">ETH</a>) futures.The recent addition has been hailed by several crypto traders describing it as a move to boost liquidity in the market and help manage risks effectively.&nbsp;For the exchange, it is a step to further strengthen its position as the top option exchange in the market even as the derivatives trading volume plunged from $2 trillion in January to around $1.5 trillion in September.Luuk Strigers, the Chief Commercial Officer of the company said in a recent interview that the reduced volatility will not limit the plans of expansion.<blockquote>&ldquo;Is this the best environment to launch new products or should we defer? That&rsquo;s what keeps us awake. We expect some increased volatility in January when we launch options on three altcoins.&rdquo;</blockquote>Richard Galvin, the co-founder of&nbsp; Digital Asset Capital Management joins traders to express the benefits of altcoin liquidity with it not being offered by Ethereum alone in the past months.&nbsp;&ldquo;&hellip;as Ether is no longer really an effective hedge for a broader portfolio of cryptoassets given its relatively low volatility.&rdquo;&nbsp;<h2 id="on-the-verge-of-europe">On the verge of Europe</h2>Although the announcement did not state a particular time when the exchange will obtain the license, many view it to be soon based on the recent state of the <a href="https://cryptonews.com/news/coinbase-ceo-considers-us-exit-amid-regulatory-uncertainty-heres-latest.htm">cryptocurrency firm's expansion</a> to Europe.&nbsp;The expansion of firms to Europe is based on the passage of the Markets in Crypto Assets (<a href="https://cryptonews.com/news/markets-in-crypto-assets-mica-framework-signed-into-law-by-eu-officials.htm">MiCA</a>) regulations alongside countries pushing to become MiCA compliant before 2024.The Panama-based firm is also working on an expansion to Dubai hinged on its recent crypto-friendly regulations.This year, the firm launched a free spit crypto trading service to help boost its derivative trading adding that the spot service will act as a gateway to the derivatives market.
