<p>Cryptocurrency experts are making confident predictions about the ongoing legal clash between the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and <a href="https://coinpedia.org/news/ripples-cto-faces-tough-interrogation-as-xrp-holders-asked-five-must-know-questions/">Ripple</a>, the company behind XRP.</p> 
<p>There’s an insider talk that the SEC might drop its charges against key figures at Ripple, including CEO <a href="https://coinpedia.org/news/xrp-news-ripples-big-event-tomorrow-ceo-brad-garlinghouse-fights-sec-bully/">Brad Garlinghouse</a> and Chairman Chris Larsen.&nbsp;</p>

The trial for this crucial case is scheduled to start on April 23, 2024, after the SEC’s appeal request was denied.</p>

<p>Mobarak believes that the SEC has bigger plans for this lawsuit beyond these two Ripple leaders. According to him, dropping charges against Larsen and Garlinghouse would allow the SEC to end the case early and file a more significant appeal with the Second Circuit.</p>

<p>It’s important to note that Mobarak has raised the possibility that the trial may not happen. This idea came up during a discussion involving Steven Nerayoff, who pointed out the SEC’s past dealings with Ethereum, especially during the early ETH sales. </p> 
<p>Mobarak hinted that if the SEC goes ahead with the trial, Ripple might bring in Steven Nerayoff to provide more information about the allegations.</p>

<p>The XRP community reacted quickly to Mobarak’s bold prediction. Many community members have doubts about the SEC dropping charges against Garlinghouse and Larsen. </p>
