Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of Ripple Labs Inc., has openly acknowledged and praised the unwavering support and resilience of the XRP community in its legal struggle with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). 
“One thing I think we all learned is that it takes a village to fight a bully, and this village beat the bully,” Garlinghouse declared while <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ifq4RnLyOcU">speaking at the recent “XRP Proper Party” held on Saturday</a>. He emphasized that the victory was not just Ripple’s but the entire XRP community’s. 
<h2 id="b-a-protracted-battle-b">A Protracted Battle</h2> 
The legal battle surrounding XRP had been a long and strenuous one. For several years, the XRP community, as well as Ripple Labs, had been embroiled in a lawsuit with the U.S. SEC. The SEC alleged that XRP was an unregistered security, which prompted a legal showdown. 
The celebrations at the “Proper Party” were a result of a significant milestone reached in July when <a href="https://thecoinrise.com/jpmorgan-says-that-judges-ruling-in-xrp-case-is-a-win-for-ripple/">Ripple secured a landmark victory in the lawsuit</a>. The court’s decision was hailed as a major win for Ripple and the broader crypto industry. However, amidst the festivities, one aspect of the case continued to be contentious.

This development added a layer of complexity to the already protracted legal battle. Amidst the cheers and celebrations at the Proper Party, Ripple made it abundantly clear that it remained resolute in its commitment to continue the legal battle if an appeal were to be pursued. During a recent interview with CNBC, Ripple’s President, Monica Long, reaffirmed the firm’s determination to see the case through to its conclusion, stating that they were prepared to fight “all the way through.”
