&nbsp;In August, <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/bitcoin-mining-giant-core-scientific-prepares-for-post-bankruptcy-comeback/">Core Scientific</a> experienced a downturn in Bitcoin mining <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/bitcoin-miners-set-for-a-tough-ride-as-2024-halving-nears-jp-morgan/">production</a>. Notably, the firm garnered 965 Bitcoins through 206,000 self-managed miners. The startling dip coincides with last month's significant market upheaval triggered by Bitcoin's sudden crash. Moreover, <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/bitcoin-mining-giant-core-scientific-prepares-for-post-bankruptcy-comeback/">Core Scientific</a> has generated an approximate 403 Bitcoins via co-located miners. 
In contrast, July saw a more prosperous output. The company operated 210,000 owned and partnered <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/russias-bitcoin-gold-rush-mining-machine-influx-outpaces-rest-of-the-world/">Bitcoin miners</a>, churning out 1,022 self-mined Bitcoins. Furthermore, 493 additional Bitcoins were acquired from co-located operations. Hence, Core Scientific registered a formidable rate of 22.2 EH/s in its facilities spread across several states, according to <a href="https://www.financemagnates.com/cryptocurrency/core-scientifics-bitcoin-mining-output-drops-in-august-amid-market-volatility/">financemagnates</a>. 
June portrayed a similar scenario. Maintaining 210,000 miners, the enterprise yielded 1,030 self-mined Bitcoins and 508 from co-location arrangements. Consequently, a <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/riot-battles-texas-heat-to-produce-410-btc-and-stabilize-energy-grid/">self-mining</a> <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/bitcoin-miners-set-for-a-tough-ride-as-2024-halving-nears-jp-morgan/">hash rate</a> of 15 EH/s was noted, primarily steered by 144,000 self-managed miners, accounting for 69% of the total count. 
Transitioning, Core Scientific adopted co-location agreements. Consequently, these contracts facilitate a share in Bitcoin rewards generated by co-located miners after defraying a portion of the mining expenses. Furthermore, the enterprise is navigating through bankruptcy filed last December, aspiring to recover fully by the fourth quarter. 
However, the broader crypto mining sector is grappling with volatility, as Bitcoin prices plunge dramatically. Indeed, last month witnessed a 7% descent in Bitcoin's value, plummeting to a startling $26,000 - a two-month low. This unexpected downturn gravely impacted the market cap of public <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/hut-8s-q2-2023-a-bitcoin-mining-marvel/">crypto miners</a>, inducing a 30% shrinkage over the month. 
This volatile climate also affected industry giants like <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/riot-platforms-to-boost-efficiency-with-midas-immersion-coolings/">Riot</a> and <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/marathon-digital-povyshaet-energoeffektivnost-s-pomoshhyu-majnerov-s19-xp/">Marathon Digital Holdings</a>. Specifically, their market valuations depreciated by $1.1 billion (31%) and $800 million (25%) respectively. Likewise, other dominant players encountered substantial market share erosions. Consequently, miners are faced with a crucial decision: depleting Bitcoin reserves to sustain operations or embracing diminished profits during this tumultuous period.

Interestingly, miners are now exploring alternative revenue streams, with artificial intelligence emerging as a viable option. Therefore, leveraging their crypto reserves, these miners are venturing into AI investments, heralding a potential shift in industry dynamics.
