 The Ministry of Education of El Salvador and the nonprofit, nongovernmental organization Mi Primer Bitcoin (MPB), meaning “My First Bitcoin,” partnered to add Bitcoin (BTC) <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" title="education" href="https://thebittimes.com/tag/education.html">education</a> to public <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" title="school" href="https://thebittimes.com/tag/school.html">school</a> curriculum by 2024. 
 John Dennehy, the founder of MPB, confirmed to Cointelegraph that this is a project of the Ministry of Education that MPB is assisting with, along with Bitcoin Beach. 
 The Mi Primer Bitcoin program,&nbsp;from which students receive a diploma of completion, will be the primary source material for the Bitcoin portion, according to Dennehy.&nbsp;

 He said training for the pilot program begins on Sept. 7 with assistance from Bitcoin Beach. The Bitcoin diploma program will be taught to 150 public school teachers from 75 schools to provide them with a “base knowledge” of Bitcoin.

 “As the first nation to adopt Bitcoin, El Salvador will be an example for the world. Quality education is our best chance to ensure that that example is a positive one.”

 Dennehy said that after the initial training, the teachers will return to their own <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" title="schools" href="https://thebittimes.com/tag/schools.html">schools</a> and teach from the curriculum created by the Ministry of Education. “If successful,” he said, “the program will be rolled out to every <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" title="school" href="https://thebittimes.com/tag/school.html">school</a> in the country next year.”

 In a recent interview with Bitcoin Beach, its community leader Roman Martínez told Cointelegraph that over 25,000 students in El Salvador have already learned about Bitcoin in the classroom.&nbsp;

 Dennehy said that while El Salvador is currently the focus, the mission is to bring Bitcoin education to the world.&nbsp;

 He told Cointelegraph that MPB is already in early talks with two other governments in Latin America that are interested in implementing El Salvadorian-style Bitcoin <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" title="education" href="https://thebittimes.com/tag/education.html">education</a> for local students.
