LasMeta is thrilled to announce a collaboration with the International Rescue Committee (IRC)!
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a global non-profit organization that helps people affected by humanitarian crises — including the climate crisis — to survive, recover and rebuild their lives. It delivers lasting impact by providing health care, helping children learn, and empowering individuals and communities to become self-reliant, always with a focus on the unique needs of women and girls. Founded in 1933, the IRC now works in over 40 crisis-affected countries, as well as communities throughout Europe and the Americas, and reached over 32.9 million people with life-changing humanitarian aid in 2022.
Over the last 90 years, the IRC has generated — or partnered in the creation of — more impact research in conflict zones than any other organization. With more people displaced than ever, the evolving and growing nature of the global refugee crisis requires not just more aid, but new thinking too.
Gaming and the IRC The IRC is focused on leveraging imaginative and transformational partnerships within the gaming space to bring attention to the global refugee crisis and provide life-changing support to people affected by conflict and disaster.
The gaming community is a global, diverse, and committed force for good that matches the IRC’s drive and dedication to building more inclusive and empowering communities for all, including those who have fled crisis zones worldwide.
“The IRC’s partnership with LasMeta in the metaverse is an excellent example of combining innovation with compassion. This is an exciting opportunity to move the IRC forward into new digital spaces and, together with our partners, inspire tech-savvy, creative audiences to engage in supporting our humanitarian mission on a global scale,” expressed Senka Filipovic, Associate Director of Gaming at the IRC.
As part of the company’s mission, LasMeta not only strives to advance the gaming world, but also strives to take social responsibility seriously and make an impact. That’s why it’s proud to collaborate with the IRC on International Day of Charity.
International Day of Charity On this International Day of Charity, LasMeta is committed to raising funds and awareness for the IRC, including supporting some of the organization’s first experiences in the metaverse. The company recognizes the importance of giving and how it contributes to helping families around the world rebuild their lives and regain control of their future.
For each Lottery Ticket sold worldwide as part of the upcoming LasMeta Lottery Draw, LasMeta will donate $0.05 USD to the IRC.* This donation will help restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster.
LasMeta Co-Founder and COO Berat Dalgar stated, “We have taken on the duty of making the world a better place and will do everything necessary to see the impact of metaverse in the not-so-digital world.”
Through this fundraiser and in the spirit of International Day of Charity, LasMeta is helping the IRC make a lasting impact for people in crisis — at a scale that truly makes a meaningful impact.
