<p>The price of Bitcoin went down a lot, like a slide at a playground, and this has really hurt a big company called MicroStrategy. They had put a lot of money into Bitcoin, but now the value of their investment has gone down a lot too, like losing points in a game. This drop in value could mean they&#39;re not making as much money as they thought, but they haven&#39;t actually lost that money yet. It&#39;s like having a bunch of candies in a jar, and if the candies become worth less, the jar is not worth as much overall.</p><h3 id="microstrategy-s-bitcoin-woes">MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin Woes</h3><p>Located in Virginia, this software giant holds an impressive stash of over 150,000 Bitcoin, now valued at roughly $3.96 billion. When factoring in the company’s original investment of $4.5 billion, this means an average buy-in of about $29,970 per Bitcoin, leading to a current deficit standing at $613 million.</p><h3 id="a-short-term-problem">A Short-Term Problem?</h3><p>In the past three days, the value of Bitcoin went down by 11%. It used to be worth more than $29,000 on August 16, but now it&#39;s around $25,000. This drop is a big deal for MicroStrategy because it makes their Bitcoin worth less, and this hasn&#39;t happened since June.</p><p>When Bitcoin went up past $30,000 because big companies started being interested, things seemed good. But even though the value of Bitcoin went down now, MicroStrategy still believes in it. The boss of MicroStrategy, named Michael Saylor, really likes Bitcoin and says they&#39;re not going to sell it, even though its value went down. He&#39;s keeping things steady.</p><p>Here&#39;s a good thing: the company&#39;s stock, called MSTR, has gone up by 132% this year. But, even though that&#39;s good, it also went down a bit recently. In the past week, it went down by about 14.49%, as shown by Tradingview numbers.</p><p>Lots of people are facing the same problem as MicroStrategy. When the value of Bitcoin goes down, it affects everyone, making it hard for them to make money.</p><p>A company that looks at data, called Glassnode, noticed that fewer people are making profits from Bitcoin. Before, 73 out of 100 people were making money, but now it&#39;s only 60 out of 100. This happened because the value of Bitcoin went down a lot. Glassnode also said that a lot of people who invested could be close to losing money, like having less money than they started with.</p><p>Even though the market is uncertain, people who have had Bitcoin for a long time are still feeling sure about it. These are the folks who have held onto their Bitcoin for a long time, like 155 days or more. They have a lot of the Bitcoin that&#39;s available to use, about 75% of it.</p>
