<p>July 25, 2023 marked a significant milestone in the world of Layer-2 scaling solutions for Ethereum. For the first time in over six months, Optimism surpassed Arbitrum in the number of transactions processed. <p>Optimism, a Layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum, has been steadily gaining traction. It uses a technology known as optimistic rollups to increase the speed and efficiency of transactions while maintaining the security of the Ethereum mainnet. This has made it a popular choice for many protocols, including major players like Synthetix and Uniswap.</p>

<p>On July 25, Optimism saw a surge in transactions, surpassing Arbitrum for the first time in over half a year according to a recent tweet by <a href="https://twitter.com/Dynamo_Patrick/status/1684259604228603907" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Patrick</a>. This shift is significant, as it indicates a growing preference for Optimism’s approach to scaling.</p> 
<p>Arbitrum, another Layer-2 scaling solution, has been a strong contender in the race for dominance. Like Optimism, it uses optimistic rollups to improve the speed, scalability, and cost-efficiency of Ethereum. However, despite its steady performance, it was surpassed by Optimism in terms of transaction volume yesterday.</p> 
<p>As of the latest data, the price of Arbitrum (ARB) stands at $1.20 with a 24-hour trading volume of $144,661,080.39. The market cap is approximately $1,534,692,364, making it the 36th largest cryptocurrency. The circulating supply is 1,275,000,000 ARB out of a total supply of 10,000,000,000 ARB.</p>
