 Vanguard Group is intensifying its focus on Bitcoin mining. SEC filings reveal it now owns over half a billion dollars in mining stocks, according to <a href="https://decrypt.co/147950/vanguard-owns-560-million-bitcoin-mining-stocks" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">decrypt</a>.&nbsp; 
 The company, with $7.2 trillion under management, bought more shares in Riot Platforms and Marathon Digital. Their Marathon Digital stake increased by 60% to 17.5 million shares, valued at $280.5 million. Vanguard also invested more in Riot Blockchain, with an 18% rise to 17.9 million shares, worth over $281 million. 
 This comes despite the company calling the long-term crypto investment case "weak" two years ago. Now, it is the largest shareholder of Marathon Digital. 
 Other institutional players are also showing increased interest in Bitcoin. Last week, Larry Fink, BlackRock CEO, called Bitcoin an "international asset." BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, also holds 8.6 million Marathon Digital shares. 
 These developments have pushed Bitcoin's price to a yearly high. It shows that the largest asset managers are betting big on Bitcoin and its underlying blockchain technology.
