Thus, becoming the latest country in Africa to do so. A measure to govern virtual assets, cryptocurrencies, and VASPs in Namibia was enacted by the lower house of parliament on June 22.The purpose of the law is to create a system for licensing and regulating VASPs. It also aims to establish a regulatory body to oversee the operations of such service providers.The primary goals are to safeguard consumers, stop market abuse, and reduce the potential for illegal activities like money laundering, terrorist funding, and proliferation to occur in the digital asset market.
