Over the past few years, cryptocurrencies have not only been used by individuals making money through speculation: they have also become a useful tool for businesses – there were 2,300 companies accepting Bitcoin in the US alone in 2020. 
In this article, we look at two strategies for using digital assets for business and the benefits of such solutions using international companies as examples.

Businesses can not only raise investments in cryptocurrencies but also invest in them – MicroStrategy Inc. The company has been creating software solutions for business and analytics since 1989, sells its securities on the stock market, and manages $3.5 billion in investment assets (2021).&nbsp; 
Although Microstrategy Inc’s core business is not directly related to cryptocurrencies, as in the previous case, it still uses them – as part of its investment portfolio.&nbsp; 
Interesting facts. The company first bought Bitcoin in 2020, and the most recent deal took place in the spring of 2023: Another 1,045 coins were purchased, and the total stock is now 140,000 BTC. 
<h2 style="text-align: center;" id="b-benefits-of-cryptocurrencies-b">Benefits of cryptocurrencies&nbsp;</h2> 
How can cryptocurrencies benefit in this case? It’s simple: MicroStrategy, they became a reserve asset that provided profits at a time when other instruments either rose in value not so much (stocks) or fell in value (bonds and precious metals), and the fear of imminent inflation was in the air.&nbsp; 
Expert opinion. MicroStrategy’s former CEO, Michael Sailor, said that Bitcoin is an ideal long-term investment and a global reserve asset. He expects that gradually more and more companies will come to cryptocurrencies, and perhaps there is indeed some truth in these words.
