Germany’s foreign intelligence agency, the Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND), has embarked on an innovative approach to recruit cybersecurity talent by launching a dog-themed non-fungible token (NFT) collection. The “Dogs of BND” NFT collection features 999 unique dog-inspired tokens and includes an on-chain treasure hunt. As interest in the collection grows, the floor price and trading volumes of the NFTs have experienced a significant surge. 
The BND’s Dog-Themed NFT Collection: 
Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service, the BND, recently unveiled its “Dogs of BND” NFT collection, comprising 999 distinct NFTs inspired by the agency’s guard and security dogs, as well as various intelligence roles. The collection serves as an engaging platform to attract cybersecurity talent. 
On-Chain Treasure Hunt for Cyber Talent: 
To make the NFTs collectible, the BND has introduced an on-chain treasure hunt. Interested participants must discover a character string, which the agency posted on Instagram, leading to an Ethereum address. By utilizing this information, cyber talent can locate the collection and become eligible to mint an NFT. 
Recruiting Cybersecurity Experts: 
In a recent interview with German crypto outlet BTC-Echo, the BND revealed that the creation of the NFT collection and associated challenge aims to identify and recruit individuals with cybersecurity skills. While most of the NFTs are available for collection, the BND has reserved twelve tokens for more challenging future contests, potentially including a smart contract hacking challenge. 
Soaring Interest and Trading Activity: 
Since gaining attention, the floor price and trading volumes of the “Dogs of BND” NFTs have witnessed a remarkable surge. Within a span of just two days, the floor price escalated from 0.000001 ETH to 0.052 ETH, equivalent to approximately $100. Although the value has surged, the liquidity of the collection remains relatively low. The reported total trading volume of around 1 ETH on June 21 suggests that only around 20 NFTs were sold by collectors.

The BND’s innovative approach to utilizing NFTs and a treasure hunt for recruitment purposes reflects a growing trend in the cyber talent acquisition space.
