<p>David Maisel, the founder of Marvel Studios, announced the launch of a unique digital art collection from his entertainment company, Mythos Studios. The non-fungible token (NFT) collection showcases Mythos Studios, Michael Turner, Peter Steigerwald, and Maisel artwork.</p>



<h2 id="the-nft-collection-a-blend-of-influences">The NFT collection: A blend of influences</h2>



<p>The <a href="https://www.ekos.io/gallery/index" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Ekos collection </a>features one-of-a-kind published colored art and new pieces inspired by a variety of influences, such as classic Marvel comics and films, the Pop Art movement, Marvel&#8217;s iconic black light posters from the 1970s, Broadway&#8217;s neon lights, and the art and energy of web3, as stated in the press release.</p>



<p>Turner, an American comic book artist who worked for Marvel and DC comics, passed away in 2008 at 37 years old. Steigerwald collaborated closely with Turner and also worked as a colorist for both DC and Marvel comics.</p>



<p>Mythos Studios is an intellectual property entertainment studio founded by Maisel and Scooter Braun. It holds a 50% stake in Aspen Comics.</p>



<h2 id="auction-details-and-bonus-nfts">Auction details and bonus NFTs</h2>



<p>The pre-auction deposit period began on April 24, with collectors having the option to pay 10 ETH to qualify for a bonus NFT from the Ekos Genesis Art Portraits, a separate collection of 100 art pieces. The team revealed that 995 Ekos Genesis Art pieces will be made available for an 88-minute Dutch-style auction, set to take place on May 2.</p>



<p>Maisel stated that web3 enables more direct interaction with the community and fanbase and provides a sense of psychological and actual ownership.</p>



<p>A Dutch-style auction involves project developers setting a specific value, typically the ceiling or highest price, and then gradually lowering the price periodically by a fixed amount.</p>



<p>The collection&#8217;s announcement comes as NFT trading volumes experience a resurgence. Alchemy&#8217;s Web3 Development Report revealed a year-over-year increase of 126% in NFT trading volume.</p>
