Ethereum Shapella Upgrade went live on Beacon Chain</h3><p>On April 12, Ethereum carried out a critical upgrade known as <a href="https://blog.ethereum.org/2023/03/28/shapella-mainnet-announcement" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Shapella</a>. Shapella is derived from Shanghai, the city that will host the Devcon 2 conference, and Capella, the brightest star in the northern constellation of Auriga. This is an increase of more than $800 million since January.</p><p>The crypto company’s attorney stated at a U.S. bankruptcy <a href="https://www.deb.uscourts.gov/FTXLiveStream" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">court hearing</a> that FTX is starting to think about its future after months of effort devoted to collecting resources and figuring out what went wrong under the leadership of indicted ex-founder Sam Bankman-Fried. Twitter partners with eToro to launch crypto and stock trading</h3><p>Social media giant Twitter <a href="https://twitter.com/eToro/status/1646430266401890304?s&#61;20" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">has partnered </a>with eToro, a social trading company, to allow users to access real-time prices for cryptocurrencies, stocks, and other assets through Twitter’s Cashtags feature.</p><p>Cashtags were launched in 2012 and allow users to interact with content around an asset by inserting a dollar sign in front of the ticker. Now, users can click through to eToro’s platform to see information about the asset, with the added option to invest.</p><p>Without a doubt, this is an exciting development for Twitter users interested in trading and investing easily and seamlessly.</p><h3 id="4-bitrue-crypto-exchange-suffers-a-23-million-hack">4. Bitrue crypto exchange suffers a $23 million hack</h3><p>This week was without a piece of bad news. Bitrue cryptocurrency exchange suffered a &#34;hot wallet&#34; exploit, resulting in attackers withdrawing various crypto assets worth nearly $23 million.</p><p>Bitrue <a href="https://support.bitrue.com/hc/en-001/articles/17538384324121" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">announced </a>on April 14 that it had to temporarily suspend all withdrawals due to the exploit. The firm expects to reopen withdrawals on April 18, 2023, after conducting additional security checks. Meanwhile, the company’s executives have promised to fully compensate all identified users affected by the incident.</p><h3 id="5-american-court-summons-tron-founder-justin-sun">5. American court summons Tron founder Justin Sun</h3><p>Justin Sun, the founder of Tron, has been served with a <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nysd.596044/gov.uscourts.nysd.596044.13.0.pdf" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">summons </a>by a U.S. court at his Singapore address as part of a civil lawsuit brought against him by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).</p><p>The case centers around allegations of the unregistered sale and offering of TRX and BTT tokens as crypto asset securities. The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York has ordered Sun to respond to the summons within 21 days by contacting the attorney for the SEC, Adam Gottlieb. Failure to respond could result in a judgment by default and penalties related to the alleged securities law violations.</p><h3 id="6-the-sec-plans-to-regulate-decentralized-exchanges-dexs">6. The SEC plans to regulate decentralized exchanges (DEXs)</h3><p>The Securities and Exchange Commission&#39;s (SEC) latest move to expand its regulatory control over the crypto world has sparked concerns among the industry&#39;s participants.
