<p>We have almost finished preparing for the DCA module testing, and the first wave of testers will soon be granted access to the module. In the meantime, here's a quick introduction into DCA and the Roobee DCA module.</p><h2 id="header-0">What is DCA?</h2><p>Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA) is an investment strategy that allows investors to allocate a total sum of money gradually over time instead of investing all available investment funds at once.The core idea behind the strategy is to purchase an asset (for example, stocks, crypto, etc) for a fixed amount of money at regular intervals over a set period of time.</p><p>Therefore, when the asset price goes up, you buy less of the asset for the same money and when the price goes down, you buy more. As a result, the average purchase price will be lower than it would have been had the investor invested a lump sum of money at once.</p><p>DCA allows to reduce the risks related to volatility because an investor ends up averaging the purchasing price by making incremental investments over the entire investment period instead of making a big, one-off purchase. The strategy also helps to avoid the stress of facing difficult decisions as to when enter the market or sell the assets since the investment money is allocated automatically.</p><p>The use of DCA might be particularly useful to those investors who plan to make long-term investments. In general, the DCA strategy helps investors to stay calm and avoid making emotion-driven choices in volatile conditions, which in turn helps to achieve better results in the long run.</p><h2 id="header-1">What is the Roobee DCA module?</h2><p>Over the past several months, our team has been working on a decentralized DCA solution that will enable Roobee users to fine-tune various investment parameters and start buying crypto under the DCA approach.</p><p>Roobee will offer the opportunity to invest in assets by using the DCA strategy, allowing investors to split their investments into smaller portions and deposit them regularly instead of investing a large amount at once. Done! The DCA module will start regularly purchasing crypto and then sending it to your wallet.</p><h3 id="you-ll-be-able-to-set-up-the-following">You’ll be able to set up the following:</h3><ul><li>Crypto to purchase</li><li>Overall investment period</li><li>Purchase frequency: daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly.</li><li>Amount to be invested regularly (starts from $1)</li></ul><img src="https://academy-public.coinmarketcap.com/srd-optimized-uploads/24c6ba99710b46f8a6f06d4937e8c29f.png"><h3 id="an-example-of-a-set-up-strategy">An example of a set up strategy:</h3><p>Let’s imagine you have decided to buy $10 worth of BTC each week over the course of one year starting from January 1, 2023. In the first week of January, BTC is traded at $50,000. You spend $10 and purchase 0,0002 BTC. During the next week, the BTC price drops to $40,000. You spend $10 again and buy 0,00025 BTC. In the third week, the BTC price goes up to $45,000. You buy 0,00022 BTC for $10, and so on.</p><p>As a result, over the course of one year, you will end up spending $520, and the amount of BTC you buy will depend on the BTC price at the time of each weekly purchase. If the price of BTC rises at the end of the year, you can make a profit, and if the price plummets, your will lose money. In general, however, the DCA strategy can help you reduce the risks and smooth out the impact of BTC volatility in the long-term.</p><h3 id="how-does-it-work">How does it work?</h3><p>The entire investment process takes place in a decentralized manner. Users can access their funds at any time, and the investment process itself is automated. The contract will be purchasing crypto and then transferring it to the user wallet in accordance with the chosen user parameters.</p><h3 id="how-can-i-participate-in-the-dca-module-testing">How can I participate in the DCA module testing?</h3><p>Very soon, we’ll be granting access to the first wave of testers. The testing for the DCA module will be performed on the Polygon network.
