#1. Kraken to shut US crypto staking

Crypto exchange Kraken will shut down its crypto staking-as-a-service platform for U.S. customers.
It will also pay $30 million to the U.S. SEC as a settlement. The SEC had charged the exchange with offering unregistered securities.
Kraken said it would automatically unstake any assets staked by U.S. clients except for staked ether, which won't be unstaked until after the Ethereum Network's Shanghai upgrade. Non-U.S. clients are unaffected.

#2. Aave deploys native stablecoin GHO on testnet

Aave has deployed its native stablecoin GHO on Ethereum’s Goerli testnet.
Developers and potential adopters of GHO can access the stablecoin’s codebase and test how it works before GHO is released to the wider public.
GHO is an overcollateralized stablecoin backed by crypto assets. Its price will be fixed with an oracle to $1.

#3. 3AC and CoinFLEX launch exchange

A crypto exchange project initially proposed by 3AC and Coinflex and referred to as “GTX” — causing public outcry — has now launched an official website and waitlist.
The new project is called “Open Exchange (OPNX)” and claims it will be “the world's first public marketplace for crypto claims trading and derivatives”.
3AC founder Zhu Su stated the project was born out of a desire to atone and recover from past mistakes.
He claims that the new exchange will provide “realtime public cryptographic audits” to ensure all user funds are untouched.

#4. Paxos facing probe by New York regulator

Stablecoin issuer Paxos is being investigated by the New York Department of Financial Services, according to a CoinDesk report.
This comes after rumors that Paxos was asked to withdraw an application with the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, something it denies.
Paxos holds a virtual currency license that was issued by the New York Department of Financial Services.

#5. OP token falls after surprise airdrop

L2 Optimism Network conducted a surprise airdrop on Thursday, sending 11.7 million governance tokens to more than 300,000 wallets.
This was part of the blockchain’s initiative to distribute 19% of its initial governance token supply. It held its first airdrop last May.
OP fell 13% following the airdrop announcement.
The airdrop comes as Optimism looks for an edge over its largest competitor, Arbitrum, which has more than double the amount of transacting wallets as Optimism.
