So, some things we share here, might not ever come to fruition, but our goal will be to set clear expectations and communicate with you all about the upcoming roadmap and priorities.</blockquote>This <a href="https://medium.com/&#64;bloktopia/bloktopia-developer-diaries-1-1827868741ba" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">weekly Developer Diary update</a> is the second edition of us exploring networked avatars in VR.In our update in edition <a href="https://medium.com/&#64;bloktopia/bloktopia-developer-diaries-9-7e8a75cbe9f6" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">#9</a>, we showcased the ability to house multiple avatars in one scene, without compromising on visual quality or decreasing movement/ animation quality.Now, we’ve built upon this progress further, with voice communication now added in.In the video below, Alex and Jacob are in the development area of Unity, once again demonstrating a basic demo of avatar movements and interactions. This time, their two avatars are able to communicate by voice, with the Oculus headset microphone picking up on what is said and syncing to the lips of the avatars (see edition <a href="https://medium.com/&#64;bloktopia/bloktopia-developer-diaries-5-e8cf67f7dd0f" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">#5</a> of Developer Diaries).The sound of the voice also varies, depending on how far away the avatars are from each other. As Alex’s avatar walks closer to Jacob’s, Alex’s voice gets louder and clearer.<react-video url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v&#61;Wel3kUrgGgM"></react-video>Through editing the spatial settings of the audio source, we’re able to imitate a crowd like environment, whilst still being able to maintain clear audio when in close proximity to another avatar.We’ve also added the ability to mute both your own avatar and other users to really focus in on conversations without distracting background noise, or if you don’t wish to be heard.All of the pieces to truly bringing avatars to life in Bloktopia are nearly complete.<h2 id="header-1">About Bloktopia</h2>Bloktopia is a VR skyscraper made up of 21 floors to commemorate 21 million Bitcoin.
