After recording its highest risk-adjusted returns in August, ETH had its worst drop in September, the same month the <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-blogs-english/is-ethereum-the-best-blockchain-network" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Ethereum blockchain</a> was transitioned to a PoS consensus mechanism.In terms of volatility, the report stated that bitcoin was the least volatile asset and the most dominating among the four cryptocurrencies examined in September.Explaining the study’s crypto market volatility findings, the report states:Volatility in cryptocurrency markets increased somewhat in September, owing to rising interest rates and an unpredictable macroeconomic situation. ETH and SOL remained the most volatile assets, with 30-day volatility of 80.0% and 82.6%, respectively. <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-currency-news-english/bitcoin-price-analysis-cmp-dollar-dollar-dollar-comes-next" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Bitcoin volatility</a> increased 19.2% in September, reversing a downward trend that began in June.Meanwhile, a review of USDT and US dollar traded volumes indicates that panicked investors were dumping depreciating currencies in favor of BTC. In September alone, Tether and the US dollar traded volumes increased by 15.4% and 15.1%, respectively.As per the reports, this might indicate that market players are flocking to BTC in response to recent instability in fiat currencies such as the British pound and the Japanese yen.In contrast, USDT volumes for ETH fell by 49.4% during the same period, while SOL witnessed a 10.5% increase in USDT volumes.
