Cybersport is considered to be one of the most fast-developing entertainment segments that is increasing by over 20% every year. Nowadays, the global eSports market is estimated at $947.1 million with the global audience over 435.9 million people.
Such games as Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and League of Legends enjoy the highest level of spectator interest. Large-scale international tournaments are organized in these disciplines with an incredible number of visitors and huge prize pools. For instance, the participants of the largest Dota 2 tournament called The International shared a prize pool of $40,018,195 last year and the sum is growing from year to year.
However, in order to earn from eSport players need to have outstanding results and make a huge effort to be noticed. Only a few achieve success and can get by with money earned from what they love. Understanding how much people are fond of cybersport, there have appeared many crypto startups that make it possible to earn from the time you spend and small achievements you have in Play-to-Earn games.
Play-2-Earn games (P2E) are video games and virtual worlds that gamers play for crypto token rewards. Some games require an investment in tokens or NFTs, while others allow people to earn crypto by playing. Many people compare cybersport with the P2E sector as they are quite similar in their essence and both grow dramatically engaging a lot of investments and public interest. For example, recently a virtual land plot in a game called Decentraland was sold for $1.3 million and the other game Axie Infinity generates total revenue of about 8.3 billion dollars.
So, is it possible that P2E games will overtake cybersport magnates, collect millions of viewers at offline tournaments and become more popular than their cybersport competitors? Actually, not in the near future. Despite rapid growth, the P2E market is still a young industry that, of course, has good large projects, but there has not been created one that can reach the level of Dota 2 yet.
Currently the most promising games that may appear on cybersport arena are:

— <a href="https://www.cryptokitties.co/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">CryptoKitties</a>
— <a href="https://alienworlds.io/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Alien Worlds</a>
It’s worth following the games and trying to play them as they can not only bring you profit but also become one of the most popular cybersport games with a high level of monetization in the future.
