<h2 id="header-0">At today&#39;s Federal Open Market Committee meeting, the Federal Reserve announced that it would raise interest rates by 75 basis points.</h2><p>The Federal Reserve has two options, with the 75 bps increase being the more reasonable. August&#39;s Consumer Price Index revealed an 8.3% YoY increase in prices. By 2025, the Fed believes it can reduce inflation to 2%.</p><p>Following the Fed&#39;s statement, the cryptocurrency markets had some ups and downs. Close to 2% of BTC and Ethereum fell before recovering. However, when Bitcoin once more drops below the $19K threshold, the market is collapsing once more.</p><h2 id="header-1">The Fed Issues an Inflation Prediction</h2><p>The Federal Reserve thinks there is still a long way to go in terms of raising interest rates. The Fed states that by the end of 2022, they anticipate raising interest rates by more than 400 basis points. Inflation is also anticipated to reach 5.4% by the end of 2022 and 2.8% by 2023. It anticipates that in 2025, inflation will reach the desired 2% level.</p><p>The founder of Northman Trader, Svan Henrich, predicts that rather than inflation, interest rates would be influenced by the next year&#39;s recession. The hawkish monetary policies of the world&#39;s countries, according to the World Bank, will cause a recession in the global economy. Henrich thinks that Fed chief Jerome Powell should change course before achieving the goal rate of 450 basis points if he really is following in the footsteps of his predecessor Paul Volcker.</p><p>In his answers to the queries on the recession, Jerome Powell came across as suspect. He said that he had no predictions about the recession or its severity. The Fed had earlier ruled out the chance of a recession.</p><h3 id="when-will-interest-rates-increase-again">When Will Interest Rates Increase Again?</h3><p>Now, all eyes are focused on the Consumer Price Index&#39;s upcoming release of the September inflation figures. The following FOMC meeting will take place on November 2, 2022.</p>
